Sometimes even though you are meeting with a nutritionist that your doctor referred you to, you might be feeling like you want more support, or even a second opinion. My training has equipped me to "think out of the box" and totally challenges the traditional Food Pyramid and USDA recommendations for healthy eating. Also, many of the food recommendations for GENERAL healthy eating does NOT apply to women struggling with Gestational Diabetes.

What are health coaching sessions like? During the first session, I will ask you many questions to get a clear picture of what you are eating… or NOT eating.  Many times we think we are eating healthy, but that may not necessarily be the case.  So much advertising will promote foods as healthy, sugar free, carb free..whatever.. but they are not necessarily good for you. I will also explore how you are managing stress.  Stress is often overlooked yet is a critical piece of the puzzle when it comes to controlling blood sugars. After getting a full history, we will establish a plan of action, setting WEEKLY goals that are reasonable for you to experience success and see the positive results right away. Every week when we meet, we will review your progress, discuss challenges, and make the necessary adjustments for the upcoming week. Gestational Diabetes is a challenging condition… you do NOT have to experience it alone!  Below is a list of features of the program.  And, thanks to technology,  sessions can be  by phone, Skype or FaceTime!
